What is Protective packaging & its types?

The protective packaging process regulates the transportation method of all equipment, materials and parts and the identification of vehicles, their proper storage, protective packaging, containment and shipping activities. Therefore, product-specific features and needs should not be forgotten when Protective packaging. This situation necessitates the formation of different protective packaging protection methods and protective packaging categories.

The concept of Protective packaging in terms of marketing appears as a method used in promoting and advertising the product. It includes the product's shape, weight, color, information that affects the customer, and information about the product.

From a logistics point of view, Protective packaging offers two services. The first of these is to protect the product from external factors during the transportation and storage of the product, and the second is to reduce the labor and material costs that must be used during the storage and transportation of the product.

The Protective packaging or packages may consist of three different levels of material:

Primary Protective packaging; It is the first original inner Protective packaging that directly encloses the product. Also called consumer protective packaging or inner Protective packaging. Products sold in bulk are unpackaged and are usually packed in large packages such as sacks.

Secondary Protective packaging; It is the material that protects the primary Protective packaging and is discarded when the product is to be used. Suppose loading or shipping protective packaging is required for storage, transport and promotion. This includes parcels, boxes, cartons and crates containing retail Protective packaging.
